Highly collectible hand-written postcard (with stamped and addressed front also in Kerouac's hand), dated December 12, 1960, Northport, NY) to his close pal, poet and author John Montgomery. Montgomery was a longtime friend and confidante who appears in Kerouac's THE DHARMA BUMS as 'Henry Morley' as well as the character Alex Fairbrother in DESOLATION ANGELS. John Montgomery's Introduction to his THE KEROUAC WE KNEW is a masterpiece of compression; it is one of the acknowledged best things written on Kerouac. This scarce collectible comes artistically, tastefully presented, accompanied by photos of Kerouac and Montgomery, in a custom standing plexiglass frame (with solid plexiglass base) with open top and sides to enable the items enclosed to be easily taken out at will.
