MR. CHURCHILL'S MESSAGE TO YOU
The Conservative and Unionist Central Office, McCorquodale & Co., Ltd., London, (1950). A well-preserved political leaflet from Churchill's time as Leader of the Opposition. Printed in 1950, in this address Churchill concisely evokes the war victory he had done so much to secure, only to have been turned out of office at the hour of victory in the July 1945 General Election. Churchill contrasts the heady, hard-won victory with the dismal aftermath, placing blame "upon the shoulders of the Labour government." Less than two years later Churchill would again become Prime Minister. This fragile piece is printed on one side of a sheet of newsprint quality paper and is in near fine condition, which is particularly noteworthy given the age and inherent perishability. The piece is clean with no appreciable spotting, soiling or toning. Item #10298
