ADVENTURES OF HUCKLEBERRY FINN

NY: Charles L. Webster & Co., (1885). First Edition, First State in the original green cloth. The Twain classic of which Hemingway famously wrote “All modern literature comes from one book by Mark Twain. It’s the best book we’ve had. All American writing comes from that. There was nothing before. There has been nothing since.” Clean contents. Minimal scarce occasional foxing. All First State points: Frontispiece with cloth visible under bust of Twain; (Contents): Chapter VI — “Huck Decided”; “Him and Another Man” listed incorrectly on P.88 rather than P.87; P.57, 11 lines from bottom” with the was” rather than “with the saw”; P.143, missing L in “Col”; P.155, Final ‘5’ off-balance. A desirable, much more presentable copy than usually seen. Very good indeed. Item #10293
